Upper Mustang Trekking

Well known, Upper Mustang Trek is one of Nepal’s most mysterious and least identified places which is located in the exceptional heart of mustang. Upper mustang is also known as a ‘Mini Tibet of Nepal’ and a very well popular trekking in Nepal too which has been described as “Mountain Desert” and looks similar like ‘Tibet’. This trekking is moderately easy trekking along the acceptable route to Lo-Manthang. The trek to Lo-Manthang is through high altitude desert country climbing in and out of the huge sided valley of the Kali Gandaki. The trek passes through the high peaks, passes, glaciers, and alpine valleys, etc. This isolation helped the people of Mustang to preserve their life style and the heritage which remained almost untouched for centuries.

You can Explore the thousand years of old monastery, caves, local tradition, culture, and scenic beauties of the different landscapes. Thus, Upper Mustang is a perfect destination where generous scope is offered for visiting Buddhists Monasteries. As this Trek provides different mountain scenery view of Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Annapurna I (8091m). You will be surrounded by more than 35 mountains over (6000m) high. The highest point of this trek is (3810m). The most popular places we reach is called Muktinath which lies in the district of Mustang and is about 18 km north east of Jomsom at an altitude of (3710m) and The Lo-Manthang, capital of Upper Mustang which lies in the remote Himalaya desert behind the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountain ranges, is an antique Tibetan Village, with different Buddhist arts and exotic cultures,tradition,etc.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Preparation and visit around in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara (823m) 6 hrs drive by tourist bus.
Day 04: Fly to Jomsom & trek to Kagbeni (2,858m).
Day 05: Trek to chele (3050m).
Day 06: Trek to Syanbochen (3475m).
Day 07: Trek to Ghaymi Khola (3520m).
Day 08: Trek to Charang (3500m).
Day 09: Trek to Lo-Mangthang (3700m).
Day 10: Rest and Explore around Lo-Mangthang.
Day 11: Trek to Drakmar (3810m).
Day 12: Trek to Ghiling (3806m).
Day 13: Trek to Chhuksang (3050m).
Day 14: Trek to Muktinath (3,710m).
Day 15: Rest and explore around Muktinath.
Day 16: Trek to Jomsom (2700m).
Day 17: Fly back to Pokhara.
Day 18: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu.
Day 19: Free day in Kathmandu.
Day 20: Final departure.
